Notes

The butterfly is locally not uncommon in forests at low to moderate elevations (200-740 m a.s.l.). They often fly out from bushes along the trail and rest on the underside of leaves from 30 to 70cm in height. Generally this species lacks vein 8 on the forewing, however some specimens from Chanthaburi, S.E. Thailand have it, and if present, it is bifurcated near the termen.
The population from the Langkawi Islands in W. Malaysia is provisionally included in this subspecies, but further taxonomic studies, including molecular analysis, are needed.
