The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at low elevations.
This taxon resembles ssp.maia. However, both sexes have a quite distinct postdiscal black line on the underside of both wings, and the female has marginal black spots in space 2 to 4 on the UnH. I restricted this taxon to the populations from Langkawi and Koh Tarutao. Further taxonomic study is needed.
