Notes
The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at low elevations (Alt. 10 - 50m) and often rest on the underside of leaves.
This taxon is very similar to Neomyrina hiemalis.
However, males can be distinguished by their large size, blue area of the UpF does not extend to the submarginal area, and the difference in genitalia.
The South Vietnam specimens are from the 1960's.
Now only Neomyrina hiemalis is found there.
It may have been replaced by Neomyrina hiemalis and is probably extinct.
On Koh Chang, Trat, the island north of Koh Kut, a Neomyrina species was photographed by Koichi Yano in 2014.
However, as there are no specimens available, it is unclear whether it is hiemalis or ikarii.
Further distributional research is needed.
