This is the first record from Thailand. Population from Nakhon Si Thammarat and southward seems nominotypical subspecies.
In Ranong, both ssp.arata and individuals that very similar to ssp.ace are found sympatrically, but the upper surface coloration is close to that of arata.
This area is considered to be a transition zone for both subspecies.
The butterfly is not uncommon in montane forest at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 100 - 400m).
