The butterfly is uncommon in forests at moderate elevations (1,000–1,300 m a.s.l.). Males are territorial on shrubs or undergrowth at hilltops between 11:00 and 14:00.
The population from S. Vietnam is closer to this taxon. Further taxonomic study is needed.
