The butterfly is not uncommon in forests at low elevations (Alt. 30 - 400m).
Males are frequently observed mud-puddling along stream banks and at puddles.
The populations in peninsular Thailand are not so clearly distinguished from ssp.lycambes, as noted by Kimura et al. (2014).
The ground color of both surface is slightly darker, and the red spot in space 3 on the UnH tends to be more reddish and prominent.
I tentatively treat it as ssp.miya.
Further taxonomic study is needed.
