Notes
The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at moderate to high elevations (Alt. 1300 - 2600m) and is univoltine. Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water. In some places it is found sympatric with Orthomiella potis or fukienensis.
The markings on the underside of both wings and the width of the purple area on the UpH are highly variable. I consider the taxon putaoica to be a synonym of rovorea. Further taxonomic and distributional studies are needed.
