The specimens were bred by Rattanapong Jennarongsak in Bangkok.
The butterfly is locally not rare in secondary coastal forests in Bangkok and Samut Sakhon.
Originally, this species was found from Bali and the Lesser Sunda Islands to Australia.
However, it has been progressively discovered in Singapore, W. Malaysia and Thailand in recent years.
While it is clear that the species is introduced, it remains uncertain whether its spread is a result of natural dispersion or human activity.
The identity of this population could not be determined previously, as only photos had been taken in the wild, but the specimen above confirms it as ssp.baliensis.
The specimen from W. Malaysia shown in G.M. van der Poorten & N.E. van der Poorten (2020) has the same characteristics and is therefore also considered to belong to this taxon.
It is expected to be found in many places in the future, especially in coastal areas.
