The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at moderate elevations (Alt. 900 - 1300m) and is frequently found at hilltops.
Ek-Amnuay ([2007],2012) recorded it from 'Chiang Mai', but this is considered to be an erroneous locality or misidentification. None have been found in Chiang Mai so far.
