The butterfly is locally common in forests at high elevations (1,500–1,800 m a.s.l.) and frequently comes to rotten fruits that have fallen to the ground. It has seasonal variations; with smaller size and wider discal bands in the dry season, larger size and thinner discal bands in the rainy season. The record of Doi Pui in Davidson & Macbeth (1938) is probably an erroneous locality.
