The butterfly is not rare in montane forest at low elevations (Alt. 30 - 450m).
I consider the populations from Ranong to Satun, P.Thailand to be this taxon as mentioned by Tsukada,1991.
Characteristics compared to ssp.marana are as follows: male is not remarkably different with slightly lighter ground colour, female markings on the upper side of both wings are much darker, especially on the UpH. Further distributional research is needed.
