The butterfly is locally not uncommon in forests at moderate elevations (700–1,300 m a.s.l.). Males are frequently territorial on trees at hilltops.
Ek-Amnuay ([2007], 2012) recorded it from 'Chaiyaphum', N-C. Thailand, but according to Kimura et al. (2016), this is a misidentification of Euthalia malaccana.
