The butterfly is locally not rare and found in montane forest at moderate to high elevations (Alt. 1000 - 1700m).
After the description of ssp.xamneuaensis, the population from northern Thailand was reexamined.
Based on its wing shape and characteristics of the markings, I consider it to be included in this taxon.
