The butterfly is locally common in lowland forests (50–300 m a.s.l.) and is frequently found on forest paths or forest edges.
Kimura (1993) designated a male from Doi Musso, Tak as paratype, however it seems to be ssp.harita. The specimen is illustrated in Kimura et al. (2016), figs.♂,♂(Un) as ssp.harita.
The subspecific name has a nomenclatural problem. The name was dedicated to Mrs. Preeya Intaburan, however Kimura (1993) has used a masculine noun to describe this subspecies. Pinratana & Eliot (1996) changed it as preeyae, but this is an unjustified emendation. In this case, unfortunately, the ICZN does not allow the original name to be changed.
