The butterfly is locally common in lowland montane forests (Alt. 50 - 300m) and is frequently found on forest paths or forest edges.
Kimura,1993 designated a male from Doi Musso, Tak as paratype, however it seems to be ssp.harita. The specimen is illustrated in Kimura et al.,2016, figs.♂,♂(Un) as ssp.harita.
The subspecific name has a nomenclatural problem. The name was dedicated to Mrs. Preeya Intaburan, however Kimura,1993 has used a masculine noun to describe this subspecies. Pinratana & Eliot,1996 changed it as preeyae, but this is an unjustified emendation. In this case, unfortunately, the ICZN does not allow the original name to be changed.
