The butterfly is locally not uncommon in forests at moderate to high elevations (1,000–1,700 m a.s.l.) and is often found on the forest edge along streams.
Males are occasionally observed mud-puddling along stream banks and at puddles.
It is very similar to Neptis soma, however, the size is almost the same or slightly smaller than Neptis clinia.
