Notes

This is the first record from Thailand.
A reliable record by examination of the male genitalia from Betong, Yala is mentioned above. It is uncertain whether the above female specimens are singularis or variation of monteithi. The records of Kimura,1997 and a figured female specimen in Kimura et al.,2011 from Than To WF., Yala as Quedara monteithi monteithi are similar to this specimens. If it is singularis, these would be the first finding in Thailand.
The butterfly is uncommon in montane forests at low elevations (Alt. 350m) and is found sympatrically with monteithi. The only way to distinguish males of this species from monteithi is examination of the genitalia. The populations in P.Thailand and W.Malaysia seem to differ from the nominotypical subspecies of Java. Further taxonomic study is needed.
