The butterfly is uncommon in montane forests at moderate elevations (Alt. 750 - 1300m).
Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
Küppers & Janikorn (2017) recorded this species from P.Thailand as ssp.gopala.
Although it looks very similar to ssp.malaya, only one nature photo is known.
Further taxonomic and distributional studies with specimens are needed.
