New to Thailand. It was found by Etsuo Ikari on 26.Oct.2013 in Trat province.
The butterfly is common in mangrove forests and forest edges (alt. 10 - 150m) and is much more cautious than other species. Males are territorial on shrubs in and around the edges of forests at 7:30 - 10:00.
The white markings of the Koh Kut population are highly variable and unstable. Generally, the male of Euploea crameri does not show an androconial brand on the UpF except for the subspecies on the Nicobar Islands. However, individuals with clear or faint brands are frequently found on Koh Kut. I examined 22 males, six of which had distinct or faint brands. The brand of the UnF of specimen No.2 is different from usual and seems to be reduced to a single brand. However, based on the wing shape and other features, I consider it to be this taxon.
The type specimen of circuita Swinhoe, 1903, now considered a synonym of Euploea core, is quite similar to these branded crameri. It is necessary to confirm the brand on the UnF, but it could be crameri. If so, the name praedicabilis may be changed. Further taxonomic and distributional studies,including DNA analysis, are needed.
