The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 50 - 800m).
Some specimens from Phetchaburi to Ranong have a distinct white band on the UpF. This seems to be a transition to ssp.angelica.
Specimens from Kanchanaburi and Tak (Mae Chan dist.) seem to be ssp.uniformis, but these are only from the under side of nature photos. The taxa angelica and uniformis seem to be distributed separately in the northeastern and southwestern mountain ranges of Umphang. Further taxonomic and distributional studies are needed.
