Notes
| The distribution map of duranius and euthymius |
 |
|
The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at moderate elevations (Alt. 600–1,400 m).
According to Brooks (1949: 258) and Nakamura (2021: 9), it occurs sympatrically with Enispe euthymius in parts of Myanmar and Laos.
Previously, only this species was recorded in Mae Hong Son Province; however, in 2026, E. euthymius was also confirmed to occur in the province.
The distributional ranges of these two species are therefore thought to overlap between Mae Hong Son and the area west of Chiang Mai city.
This species is distinguishable from E. euthymius solely by examination of the genitalia.
Consequently, records unsupported by genitalic dissection cannot be reliably utilized.
Although several records exist from Chaiyaphum and Phetchabun provinces in north-central Thailand, the lack of genitalic examination leaves their specific identity uncertain;
they could represent either this species or E. euthymius.
Therefore, further taxonomic and distributional studies are needed.
