The butterfly is common in secondary and montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 250 - 1000m).
This taxon is easily distinguished from other species of the mineus group by the ocelli in space 2, which is moved inwards, well out of line with those in spaces 1b and 3 on the UnH.
