The butterfly is uncommon and rather localized in montane forests at low elevations (Alt. 50 - 350m).
The differences in males between ssp.lalassis and ssp.indroides are not so notable, and considering the range of variation between the two subspecies, these are likely to be indistinguishable.
However, there are likely to be differences in females.
I tentatively separate the two subspecies here.
Further taxonomic study is needed.
