The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 150 - 600m). Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
The male specimens from S.E.Thailand are slightly larger in size and have slightly broader discal black band on the UpF than populations from S.Vietnam to C.Laos. Further taxonomic and distributional studies are needed.
