The butterfly is locally not rare in dry forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 250 - 900m) and is frequently found at hilltops.
Males are territorial on canopies and are often found sympatrically with Virachola perse, but this species is generally less common than perse.
Examples of dry season males tend to have an obscure orange patch on the UpF.
It is possible that the Indian and Indochinese populations may be different taxa.
Further taxonomic study is needed.
