The butterflys is uncommon in montane forests at low elevations.
There is a tendency for the female red patch on the upper side to get smaller from north to south.
Especially, specimens from S.E.Thailand have very small red patch, but it is variable even in the same locality.
Further taxonomic and distributional studies are needed.
