Notes

The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 350 - 900m). Males are territorial on trees or shrubs at hilltops.
The population from Betong, Yala is considered to be this taxon. I tentatively treat the records from Than To, Yala as this taxon, but I have not been able to examine the females. These could be ssp.artegal. Further taxonomic and distributional studies are needed.
