Notes
The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 50 - 700m).
Both ssp.indicus and ssp.ophiala occur together in P.Thailand (Ranong to Nakhon Si Thammarat) as noted by Evans,1957.
Furthermore, the nominotypical subspecies and ssp.indicus are sympatric in Yala province.
Further taxonomic and distributional studies, including DNA analysis, are needed.
