The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at low elevations (Alt. 150 - 450m).
Previously, the peninsular populations were treated as the nominotypical subspecies.
However, I treat only the population from the southernmost part of Thailand, Yala and Narathiwat, as ssp.agrata, and those from the north as ssp.binghami.
