Notes

This is the first reliable record from Thailand.
The butterfly is not rare in montane forests at low elevations (Alt. 10 - 30m).
The taxon ariavana has a wider marginal black border on the UpF, and the ground colour on the underside is darker, with conspicuous markings and a reddish-purple wash. It is considered to be confined to Langkawi and Koh Tarutao, Satun.
The female specimen in Ek-Amnuay,[2007],2012 appears to be this taxon, but Koh Tarutao is not mentioned as the locality.
