The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at moderate to high elevations (Alt. 1300 - 2000m) and is univoltine.
The female specimen shown as Orthomiella pontis ssp. in Osada, Uémura & Uehara,1999 is considered to be this species. The population of central Vietnam is uncertain. Further taxonomic and distributional studies are needed.
