Notes
The butterfly is common in montane forests at low to high elevations (Alt. 400 - 1600m).
Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
A male specimen from Lampang, N. Thailand shown above has a prominent white patch on the upper side of both wings, however the genitalia is definitely this species.
It seems to be an extreme dry-season variation.
I am tentatively treating the population from Phetchaburi, P. Thailand as this taxon, but only a few specimens have been examined.
Further taxonomic study is needed.
