Notes
The butterfly is locally common in montane and secondary forest at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 10 - 900m).
Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
In Seki et al.(1991), Takanami synonymised a number of subspecies from Sri Lanka, India to Philippines and the Moluccas with the nominotypical subspecies.
However, I tentatively follow Kimura et al. (2014) here.
Further taxonomic study is needed.
