Notes

The butterfly is common in montane forests at low elevations (Alt. 20 - 450m) and frequently comes to rotten fruits that has fallen to the ground.
The taxon gupta is considered to be a synonym of goodrichi based on the photo of type specimen in Sheela et al.,2019. In Sheela et al.,2019, Male is also illustrated as the type specimen, however in the original description was based on a single female. Thus, this male is considered to be not the type specimen.
The taxon ira is also considered to be a synonym of goodrichi. The width of male discal band on the upperside is rather variable. In general, the width of the band tends to narrow from north to south, but there is more individual variation than regional variation. Individuals such as the one shown in the original description of ira is found frequently in P.Thailand. Tukada,1991 described johorensis from Johor, W.Malaysia, which was considered a synonym of this subspecies by Eliot & Kirton,2000.
