The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at high elevations (Alt. 1500 - 1800m) and frequently comes to rotten fruits that have fallen to the ground. It has seasonal variations; with smaller size and wider discal bands in the dry season, larger size and thinner discal bands in the rainy season. The record of Doi Pui in Davidson & Macbeth (1938) is probably an erroneous locality.
