Notes
The butterfly is not rare in montane forest at low elevations (Alt. 150 - 300m).
Males are territorial on shrubs or undergrowth.
In populations from W. Malaysia to the northern part of peninsular Thailand, the ground color of the upperside tends to darken and the white area on the UpH tends to be reduced from south to north.
Some examples from Ranong look similar to ssp.manata, however they are variable and the shape of the hind wing is not as rounded as ssp.manata.
The species is hard to distinguish from Tanaecia palguna and needs examination of the male genitalia for identification.
