The butterfly is common in montane and secondary forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 30 - 1000m). It is slightly less common than the sympatric Pantoporia hordonia. The populations of peninsular Thailand, especially the specimens from Yala might be the nominotypical subspecies. However I tentatively treat them as ssp.davidsoni due to the small number of specimens examined and the insufficient comparative study. Further taxonomic study is needed.
