Notes
New to Thailand. The individual that Godfrey,1930 reported in Chanthaburi is possible to be this species.
The confirmed record from Thailand is captured by Prasobsuk Sukkit on 11.Oct.1992 at Koh Chang, Trat.
The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at low elevations (Alt. 30 - 350m).
Both sexes visit flowers.
The characteristics of the male UpF are very similar to Pyroneura niasana burmana.
The male genitalia is closely related to Pyroneura callineura, but is much more specialised.
I suspect that this may be a distinct species, as Devyatkin & Monastyrskii (2003:126) have pointed out.
Further taxonomic study is needed.
