Notes
The butterfly is locally common in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 30 - 1200m) and is crepuscular.
Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
The area from Nakhon Si Thammarat, peninsular Thailand to northern Vietnam seems to be a transition zone between ssp.indica and ssp.vitta.
The markings on the UnH in this area are highly variable and unstable, and intermediate individuals are often found together.
The classifications of the subspecies in the distribution map are tentative.
Further distributional research is needed.
