The butterfly is uncommon in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 300 - 550m) and is crepuscular.
Males frequently come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
Pinratana (1985) recorded it from Ratchaburi but it is most likely to be the nominotypical subspecies.
Ek-Amnuay ([2007],2012) recorded this taxon from Yala.
However, this was a misidentification of Burara anadi anadi and the locality 'Yala' is rather doubtful.
The specimen shown above is the first reliable record from Thailand.
