Notes
The butterfly is locally not rare in montane forests at low to moderate elevations (Alt. 10 - 900m).
Both sexes visit flowers and males occasionally come to the banks of streams and puddles to suck water.
The type locality of fabricii is said to be "Cochin China".
However, judging by the markings, it could be from Indonesia (probably Java).
Ek-Amnuay,[2007],2012 recorded this species from Chiang Mai, but this is doubtful.
I have never seen any from Chiang Mai.
There appears to be a transition zone with ssp.rogenhoferi in Myanmar (around Yangon).
