Monastyrskii (2019) treated it as a synonym of ssp.grandis. However, the yellowish-white part of the UpF is particularly broad in costa, and the yellowish-white post-discal markings within the black portion are rather small. I am tentatively treating it as a good subspecies, but further taxonomic study is needed.
