The butterfly is not rare in montane forests at moderate to high elevations (Alt. 1000 - 1800m).
It occurs with Enispe duranius in some parts of Myanmar and Laos [Nakamura (2021:9)]. Hitherto no sympatric habitat has been found in Thailand, though I think it should be found in the future.
This species is only distinguishable from Enispe duranius by examination of male genitalia. Therefore, records that have not had male genitalia examined cannot be used. There are several records from Chaiyaphum and Phetchabun in central Thailand; but since the male genitalia have not been examined, it is not certain whether they are this species or Enispe duranius. Further taxonomic and distributional studies are needed.
The populations from Yunnan to N.Thailand are much closer to ssp.sychaeus than to the nominotypical subspecies, as Huang (2023:103-104) pointed out.
