The butterfly is locally common in montane dense forests at moderate to high elevations (Alt. 1200 - 1700m).
Examples from Nan and some parts of N.Thailand are very large in size, darker ground color on both Up and Un surfaces and have reduced small white spots on the Un of both wings. The relationship with Faunis eumeus incerta is still unclear and the distribution of both taxa seems to be complicated in a mosaic. Further taxonomic study and distributional research are needed.
